More than 60,000 Palestinians in northern Gaza are at critical risk amidst the ongoing ‘israeli’ siege
The civil defense agency in Gaza has characterized the conditions in the blockaded northern region of the Gaza Strip as "catastrophic," warning that no fewer than 60,000 Palestinians in the area face life-threatening risks.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Mahmoud Basal, spokesperson for the Palestinian Civil Defense in Gaza, addressed the ongoing situation as Israeli operations and blockade persist in the region.
Basal reported that individuals residing in the northern Gaza Strip have been deprived of food and clean water for a period of 60 days.
The conditions in Beit Lahia and surrounding northern regions have reached a critical state, rendering the provision of healthcare, medical, and emergency services to local inhabitants untenable, according to official statements. Additionally, residential structures in these areas are reported to have become unlivable.
A spokesperson for Gaza’s civil defense agency has accused the occupying forces of carrying out acts of genocide against the people living in the northern Gaza Strip.
Supported by the United States and its Western allies, Israel initiated military operations in Gaza on October 7, 2023, following an offensive by the Palestinian group Hamas, dubbed Operation Al-Aqsa Flood. This move was a reaction to what Hamas described as years of Israeli repression against Palestinians.
The ongoing military assault on Gaza has resulted in the deaths of 44,502 Palestinians, predominantly women and children, and left 105,250 individuals injured, according to recent reports. Additionally, thousands are currently unaccounted for and are feared to be trapped beneath the debris.
The Israeli government has implemented a “total siege” on the region, halting the supply of fuel, electricity, food, and water to the over two million Palestinians residing in the area.
International aid agencies have consistently expressed concern regarding the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza, reporting that aid deliveries to the region have reached their lowest levels since the onset of the Israeli offensive.
The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations has urgently appealed for unrestricted and secure access to provide emergency aid to the conflict-stricken region of Gaza, aiming to avert the looming threat of famine.
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor, a Geneva-headquartered non-governmental organization, has reported that approximately 70,000 Palestinians in northern Gaza are experiencing severe hunger as a result of an intensified Israeli blockade that has persisted for more than three months.
