The Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Ground Forces has issued a stern warning, affirming that any threats or acts of aggression directed at Iran’s borders will be countered with a robust and decisive response by the Iranian Armed Forces.

Brigadier General Mohammad Pakpour, speaking to reporters at the Great Prophet 19 military exercise in western Iran on Wednesday, affirmed the readiness of the Armed Forces to safeguard the nation. He highlighted the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ commitment to prioritizing border security, as reported by Tasnim News Agency.

The military exercise orchestrated by the commander is being conducted in two distinct phases. At present, the security phase is being executed in western Iran. Subsequently, the defensive phase is scheduled to commence in the southern parts of the nation.

He highlighted the strategic geographical importance of the initial drills’ location, emphasizing that Mount Bamo, located in the Zagros Mountains, holds substantial significance given its close proximity to Iraq’s Diyala province—a region that previously served as a stronghold for terrorist and Takfiri elements.

Pakpour stated that the military drill was a component of the IRGC’s yearly agenda, aimed at bolstering their forces’ combat readiness and enhancing their ability to counter potential threats effectively.
