Iran urges inclusion of all political factions in Syria’s future governance

A high-ranking Iranian official has called for the inclusion of all political factions in shaping the future of Syria, emphasizing the Islamic Republic’s stance on inclusive governance in the Arab nation.**

Mohammad Reza Raouf Sheibani, the Special Envoy for Syrian Affairs from Iran’s Foreign Ministry, emphasized on Saturday that Tehran prioritizes maintaining stability in Damascus.

During his visit to Moscow on Friday, the envoy engaged in discussions with Russian officials concerning the latest developments in Syria.

In a recent meeting with Russian officials, both parties underscored the importance of inclusive political participation in Syria, stressing that all political factions should be actively involved in the nation’s governance.

Iran has asserted its position regarding Syria’s unique role in the Middle East, emphasizing that the country’s future should be decided by its citizens.

An Iranian diplomat has stated that Tehran is against any foreign involvement in determining Syria’s future.

Iran has received communications from Syria, according to Sheibani, who also noted that Tehran is engaged in indirect negotiations with Damascus.
