Yemen successfully intercepts the 15th advanced American drone, pledging continued backing for Gaza and Lebanon
The Yemeni Armed Forces have reported the successful interception and downing of a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone. The military claims the drone violated Yemen's airspace while carrying out hostile operations in the western province of al-Hudaydah.
On Tuesday, officials announced the downing of an aircraft, marking the fifteenth instance of such an event by Yemen’s air defenses amid the ongoing Battle of the Promised Victory and the Sacred Jihad.
In October 2023, military hostilities began following Israel’s initiation of a significantly US-supported military campaign in the Gaza Strip, which has been described as genocidal in nature. This offensive also extended its Washington-backed aggressive actions toward Lebanon.
The operations undertaken in this conflict are intended to safeguard Yemen amid escalating aggressive actions by the regime, the United States, and the United Kingdom, targeting the defensive and civilian infrastructures of the Arab Peninsula nation.
A recent statement underscored that Yemen’s air defense systems are fully operational and poised to counter any external threats.
The Yemeni forces have reiterated their unwavering support for the Palestinian populace, joining forces with allied combatants in Gaza and Lebanon to form a consolidated front opposing Israeli and American actions.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have announced their preparedness to address aerial threats and have emphasized their capability to monitor and track hostile activities in the Red Sea and Arabian Sea. They assert their readiness to respond decisively to any potential provocations or adverse developments in these strategic maritime regions.
The forces appeared to be alluding to the United States’ ongoing reinforcement and maintenance of a substantial offensive naval presence in the waters near Yemen’s coast.
Washington has bolstered its military presence by deploying aircraft carriers and warships to the region, despite having to previously withdraw several of these carriers due to strong retaliatory actions from Yemeni forces.
Recently, Yemeni officials and military forces have issued warnings to both Israel and the United States, cautioning against any further escalatory actions affecting Palestinian, Lebanese, and Yemeni regions.
Furthermore, Sana’a has urged the international community to hold Tel Aviv and Washington responsible for their antagonistic actions. The Yemeni government has also repeated warnings that ongoing aggression from these entities could lead to significant and widespread repercussions.
