Iran Parliament speaker: Iran will not wait for any letter from US
Iran's Parliament Speaker, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf, stated that the nation will not await correspondence from the United States, underscoring that Iran is focused on leveraging its internal resources.

During an open parliamentary session on Sunday, Qalibaf addressed recent developments, responding to assertions made by US President Donald Trump. Two days prior, President Trump stated in an interview with Fox News that he had dispatched a letter to Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
Former President Donald Trump announced that he had issued a stern warning to Iran, urging the nation to engage in negotiations over its nuclear program or face potential military action.
The speaker declared that there will be no anticipation of correspondence from the United States, asserting confidence in leveraging substantial domestic resources and fostering international relations to drive progress. This approach, the speaker believes, will compel adversaries to remove sanctions through ongoing negotiations with the remaining signatories of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
He was alluding to the 2015 nuclear agreement, officially termed the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, which the United States withdrew from.
Qalibaf remarked that former President Donald Trump’s interactions with other nations indicate that his appeals for dialogue are primarily a misleading strategy aimed at “disarming” Iran.
He emphasized that talks carried out alongside threats, humiliation, and demands for additional concessions will not result in the lifting of sanctions.
He stated, “It has become increasingly apparent to the esteemed Iranian nation that empowering Iran and counteracting the sanctions are viable pathways to achieving their removal.”
During his initial term in office, former President Donald Trump independently opted to exit the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in 2018, subsequently implementing a range of sanctions against Iran that have been described as illegal by some analysts.
Since 2021, the parties still involved in the agreement have engaged in intermittent negotiations concerning the lifting of sanctions imposed on Iran and matters related to its nuclear program.
In response to recent assertions made by former President Donald Trump, Tehran has announced that it has not received any correspondence from the U.S. President.
In a statement made on Saturday, the Leader remarked that certain dominant powers’ persistent call for dialogues with Iran is not intended to address or resolve any matters but rather to impose their own expectations.
