Powerful 7.7-magnitude quake hits Myanmar

A 30-story high-rise structure, currently under construction in Bangkok, Thailand, has fully collapsed following the impact of powerful earthquakes that struck neighboring Myanmar.

According to local media reports cited by the Anadolu Agency, at least 43 workers are believed to be trapped under the rubble. Authorities have confirmed that there have been no casualties reported at this time.

A powerful earthquake with a magnitude of 7.7 struck Myanmar’s Sagaing Region on Friday, the United States Geological Survey reported. The initial tremor was followed closely by another seismic event, registering a magnitude of 6.4, just 12 minutes later.

Sagaing Region, situated in the northwestern section of the country, is home to a population exceeding 5 million residents.

Local media outlets have circulated images depicting the damage inflicted on buildings and roads.

Authorities have reported that there are currently no confirmed reports of casualties.
