Yemeni Forces Successful Interception of US MQ-9 Drone
The Yemeni Armed Forces have reported the successful downing of a US MQ-9 drone over Ma'rib Governorate, marking the 16th such incident since October 7, 2023.

The Yemeni Armed Forces announced on Monday night that their air defenses successfully intercepted and downed a U.S. MQ-9 Reaper drone. The aircraft was reportedly conducting hostile operations within the airspace of Ma’rib Governorate. This act is described as a retaliatory measure against U.S. aggression, executed with what they termed an appropriate, locally-produced missile.
Air defense forces have successfully intercepted and neutralized a sixteenth drone amid the ongoing Battle of the Promised Victory and the Holy Jihad in support of Gaza, according to an official announcement.
The announcement detailed that in recent hours, US forces have conducted several raids across multiple locations, leading to casualties, injuries, and damage to civilian properties.
The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared their commitment to impeding Israeli navigation in both the Red and Arabian Seas. They have further expressed their ongoing support for the Palestinian people, vowing to continue their efforts until hostilities against Gaza cease and the blockade is lifted.
The statement emphasized that there will be no hesitation, with the aid of Allah Almighty, to conduct additional defensive operations against enemy warships in the near future.
On Sunday evening, the United States engaged in further military actions against Yemen in an effort to pressure the Arab nation to withdraw its support for Palestinians in Gaza.
American warplanes launched a series of thirteen powerful airstrikes targeting the capital city of Yemen, Sana’a.
Yemeni media sources have documented a total of eight attacks targeting the Al-Malikah region in Sana’a, as well as five strikes on the Sarf area.
Subsequent attacks occurred after previous strikes resulted in the death of one civilian and left twelve others injured in two areas of Sana’a.
Reports indicate that a significant portion of the U.S. military strikes has been directed at civilian infrastructure in the capital city of Yemen.
Yemeni forces have been targeting Israeli and American interests as a gesture of solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza since the commencement of the hostilities on October 7, 2023. This move also comes as a reaction to the perceived aggression by American and British forces towards Yemen.
The operations have resulted in the effective closure of the Eilat port, located south of the disputed territories, leading to considerable economic challenges for Israel.
