Iran Issues Stern Warning: Air Force Prepared to Counter Any Threat with Swift Response

Commander of the Islamic Republic of Iran Air Force, Brigadier General Hamid Vahedi, has stated that

Vahedi emphasized the Air Force’s critical role in national defense, stating, “The Air Force is not simply a combat unit; it stands as the forefront of rapid response to any threat.” This declaration was made during his address at the 25th elite conscript training course for university students.

He emphasized that asserting dominance in the skies equates to controlling the battlefield and maintaining territorial sovereignty. He further noted that in modern military dynamics, a country unable to protect its airspace is left exposed on both land and sea.

Vahedi underscored the progress made by Iran’s Army Air Force in recent decades, asserting that the current capabilities enable the Air Force to identify threats from vast distances and to react swiftly and decisively.

He highlighted that advanced technologies such as smart drones, phased-array radars, electronic warfare systems, and multi-layered air defense mechanisms are integral to Iran’s Air Force strategy to assert dominance in the region.

Relying on Foreign Resources Deemed a ‘Flawed Strategy’

In other parts of his speech, Brigadier General Vahedi highlighted the importance of achieving self-sufficiency in defense capabilities. He asserted that sanctions and restrictions have demonstrated the shortcomings of depending on foreign sources.

“Iran’s Air Force today has shown the world that national will can surmount any challenge through advancements in attack drones, aircraft maintenance and upgrades, domestic missile production, and radar systems,” he stated.

Iran has been increasingly relying on domestic initiatives and expertise to achieve substantial progress in boosting the self-sufficiency of its military forces.

Iranian officials, guided by the directives of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, have consistently emphasized that the nation remains resolute in enhancing its military capabilities. These advancements are solely intended for defensive purposes and, as such, are non-negotiable.
