Tehran Commemorates Birth Anniversary of Imam Reza (AS)

The grand celebration honoring Imam Reza (AS) commenced at 4:00 p.m. in Tehran on Friday, coinciding with a similar observance in eight major cities across Iran. The event spanned from Haft-e Tir Square to Vali-e Asr (AS) Square, followed by a procession along Keshavarz Boulevard.

The Cultural and Artistic Organization of the Tehran Municipality has organized an array of events for the “Decade of Dignity“. In Vali-e-Asr (AS) Square, a prominent stage has been erected, with a variety of entertaining and engaging activities planned for attendees of this significant gathering. The grand celebration will feature theatrical performances, musical acts, and competitions, offering a diverse lineup for participants to enjoy.

Amidst the festivities, thousands of cultural and catering booths are providing hospitality to guests. Notably, black nomadic tents are offering Iranian ethnic cuisine, representing the rich tapestry of diverse ethnicities.

Mashhad, Iran, is currently illuminated with celebrations marking the birth anniversary of Imam Reza (AS), the Eighth Infallible Member of the Holy Prophet’s Household.

Mashhad witnessed a large gathering of individuals, beginning at 15th of Khordad Square and extending to the sacred shrine of Imam Reza, as throngs of people united to partake in the grand celebrations marking the birth anniversary of Imam Reza.

A noteworthy moment that captivated audiences was the presentation of a 1,000-meter-long cake dedicated to Imam Reza (AS). This colossal confection, a product of continuous dedication and management by Astan-e Quds Razavi, was crafted and shared with the public.

Friday commemorates the anniversary of the birth of Imam Reza (AS), the eighth Shia Imam. His revered sanctuary in Mashhad, located in northeastern Iran, resonates with the melodious praises of angels and the jubilation of countless pilgrims.

The city is in a festive spirit as the streets leading to the sacred shrine are beautifully illuminated with vibrant lights and decorations, enhancing the significance of the auspicious occasion.

Amidst heartfelt devotion, pilgrims congregate in the shrine’s courtyard, participating in prayers, hymns of praise, and festivities honoring the Imam’s birth.

The concluding celebrations of the ten-day “Decade of Dignity” (Dahe-ye Keramat) event have brought a radiant glow to the city and deeply touched the hearts of the devout.

The areas surrounding the shrine are adorned with vibrant flowers, flags, and banners in commemoration of the event, fostering a festive atmosphere.

Alongside the spiritual observances, the Imam Reza Shrine and its vicinity are expanding their social services, featuring enhanced medical assistance with extra ambulances and emergency units, along with charitable initiatives designed to aid those in need.

The initiatives encompass construction projects in rural regions and measures to supply hearing aids to students requiring assistance, among other efforts.

An international literary gathering, titled “Night of Poetry,” took place, which showcased the elegance of Imam Reza’s teachings through the art of poetry. The event aimed to strengthen cultural ties among the pilgrims.
