Gaza Officials Condemn Israel’s ‘Starvation Engineering’ Tactics Amid Food Blockade
Over 80 days into Israel's comprehensive blockade of Gaza, the Gaza Media Office has stated that the ongoing humanitarian crisis in the densely populated Palestinian region is a direct consequence of the government's strategy of "starvation engineering."

The office announced on Saturday that the humanitarian impact has been devastating since the closure of Gaza’s border crossings on March 2.
According to the statement, at least 58 individuals have perished directly due to malnutrition, while an additional 242, primarily among the elderly, have lost their lives amid shortages of food and medicine.
For the 84th consecutive day, reports indicate that Israeli forces have upheld a total blockade on Gaza, closing all border crossings and severely limiting the entry of humanitarian aid, fuel, and food supplies.
The media office reported that as the residents of Gaza face a worsening famine, vast quantities of relief and humanitarian supplies, totaling hundreds of thousands of tons, have accumulated and are starting to deteriorate. These essential goods have remained blocked from entering Gaza for several months.
According to the statement, a minimum of 46,200 truckloads containing essential aid and fuel should have been delivered to Gaza since early March to fulfill the basic needs of its residents.
Despite assertions from Israel regarding the entry of aid, only approximately 100 trucks have managed to reach the region in recent days, representing less than 1 percent of the essential needs.
The statement highlights the occupation’s policy of “starvation engineering,” a tactic that intentionally regulates the flow and distribution of food, exacerbating the humanitarian crisis for over two million civilians in Gaza.
The media office has reiterated accusations against the United States, alleging complicity in Israel’s actions in Gaza and censuring the Trump administration for its inaction in alleviating Palestinian suffering.
The organization once again urged the international community and humanitarian groups to fulfill their moral and legal responsibilities by taking immediate action to save Gaza’s civilian population from an impending catastrophic famine.
