Israeli ‘surgical accuracy’ means killing women and children, says Iran FM spox

Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmail Baghaei, has refuted claims of "surgical strikes with no residential damage" put forward by the Zionist regime, labeling such assertions as "routine barbarity."

In a series of recent strikes on Tehran, reports indicate that 73 women and children have lost their lives. According to Baghaei, 20 children were killed in the Chamran residential complex, with 10 still believed to be trapped beneath the debris 48 hours after the incident.

In one of the deadliest attacks, an Israeli strike early Friday morning hit a residential building in Tehran’s Nobonyad neighborhood, resulting in the deaths of 60 civilians, including 20 children.

The explosion resulted in the complete destruction of the building, and search operations are ongoing to recover bodies, including those of children, from the rubble.

Baghaei criticized the assertion of “surgical accuracy” frequently used by Israeli officials, describing it as a grim euphemism for the targeting of families, women, and children.

He criticized the so-called “surgical accuracy,” condemning the routine targeting of families, children, and women as acts of barbarity.

Iran’s Health Ministry has reported that Israeli aerial assaults, which commenced on June 13 with backing from the United States, have resulted in the deaths of 224 individuals across several waves of attacks.

In a statement released on Sunday, Health Ministry spokesman Hossein Kermanpour declared that the claim asserting Israel exclusively targets military sites has been debunked as unfounded.

To date, the attacks have resulted in 1,481 casualties, including both fatalities and injuries. Among these, 1,277 individuals have been admitted to hospitals, with over 90 percent being confirmed as civilian victims.

He stated that 522 individuals have been discharged, whereas the attacks have resulted in the deaths of 224 men, women, and children.

Health Minister Mohammadreza Zafarghandi reported that the recent Israeli attacks on Iran predominantly targeted civilians, with a substantial portion of the casualties comprising women and children.
