Iran Accuses ‘War-Mongering’ US of Liability for Aggressive Consequences

Iran’s foreign ministry has issued a strong condemnation of what it describes as a severe military attack on its peaceful nuclear facilities. The ministry labeled the action as “a grave and unprecedented breach of the fundamental principles outlined in the United Nations Charter and international law.”

In a statement issued on Sunday, mere hours following the incident, the ministry expressed that it holds the “war-mongering and lawless” US administration “fully accountable for the perilous consequences and wide-ranging implications of this egregious act of aggression and heinous crime.”

A recent statement condemned the actions of the United States military, accusing it of violating the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of a United Nations member state in cooperation with Israel. The statement criticized the American foreign policy approach, illustrating what it described as a deep level of hostility from the U.S. leadership towards Iran and its pursuit of peace and independence.

The Islamic Republic of Iran asserted its resolve to “vigorously defend its territory, sovereignty, security, and citizens by any means necessary against what it terms the United States’ criminal aggression.”

The ministry has stated that the aggression has “clearly revealed Washington’s criminal involvement with the Zionist regime in orchestrating and conducting a war against Iran.”

In a recent declaration, it was asserted that the aggressive actions by a permanent member of the Security Council against Iran’s peaceful nuclear installations represent a glaring violation of the UN Charter, notably breaching the prohibition of force under Article 2(4) and the duty to uphold states’ territorial integrity and sovereignty. Additionally, it contravenes UN Security Council Resolution 2231, delivering a severe setback to the international non-proliferation framework. The possibility of Iran retaliating by targeting the largest American military base in response to U.S. attacks has been raised.

“Failure to respond to such overt aggression could propel the world into an unparalleled era of peril and disorder.”

The ministry has issued a statement urging the United Nations, the UN Security Council, the UN Secretary-General, the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and other pertinent international organizations to fulfill their responsibilities by taking “urgent and decisive action” following what it describes as a grave violation of international law.

A statement has called for the United Nations Security Council to hold an emergency session to firmly denounce what has been described as a criminal act of aggression by the United States against Iran. The statement demands that the United States be held responsible for what is alleged to be a significant breach of the fundamental principles of the United Nations Charter and international legal norms.

The role of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and its Director General is increasingly scrutinized amid allegations of partiality towards parties favoring military action. Critics claim this perceived bias has contributed to recent tensions. In light of a purported aggressive action by the United States targeting Iran’s peaceful nuclear sites, which are reportedly under complete IAEA safeguards, there is a growing call for the IAEA Board of Governors to urgently convene and fulfill its legal obligations in addressing the situation.

The ministry emphasized the importance of remembering that it was the United States that, amidst diplomatic negotiations, undermined the process by backing Israel in its controversial actions against Iran. Ayatollah Khamenei, the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, issued a warning concerning potential US military actions targeting Iran.

The statement accused the United States of escalating aggression toward the Islamic Republic of Iran by initiating a perilous conflict. It asserted that it is now evident to everyone that the regime, which holds a permanent seat on the Security Council, disregards principles and morality, resorting to unlawful acts to further the objectives of a genocidal and occupying regime.

Reports have emerged of US military action targeting Iranian nuclear sites, with the announcement made in the early hours of Sunday. The declaration came from Trump on his social media channels.

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) issued a strong condemnation of the reported attacks on three sites operating under the strict oversight of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in accordance with the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). The AEOI described the actions as a “brutal assault” that constitutes a violation of international law.

The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) accused the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) of either neglecting or being complicit in the recent act of aggression.

A statement has called upon the international community to denounce the perceived lawlessness described as “jungle rules” and to support Iran in affirming its legitimate rights.

The organization has prioritized all essential actions to uphold the rights of the Iranian people, including pursuing legal measures.
