Iran Asserts Right to Respond Fully to US Aggression, Declares UN Envoy

"An Embarrassment for the Global Community"

Iran’s permanent representative to the United Nations, addressing an emergency session of the UN Security Council on Monday, delivered a stern rebuke of the recent US military actions on Iranian territory. The representative emphasized that Tehran holds the full and legitimate right to self-defense in accordance with international law.

In a highly charged address, Amir Saeid Iravani declared that today represents another “shameful chapter in the political history of the United States,” alluding to the early Sunday assaults on three peaceful Iranian nuclear sites located in Isfahan, Natanz, and Fordow.

He stated that Trump “personally carried out the most disgraceful part of this wicked scenario,” citing Trump’s directive for the aggression and his bold announcement on social media, which caught everyone off guard.

The envoy characterized the Islamic Republic of Iran as an “independent and peace-seeking nation,” emphasizing that the country had consistently cautioned the “warmongering US regime” against any hostile measures prior to Sunday’s incidents of aggression.

Iran has asserted its full legal rights under international law to retaliate against what it describes as an unprovoked and premeditated attack by the United States, a statement by spokesperson Iravani has confirmed. The condemnation comes in response to a reported assault that Iravani associated with Israeli aggression against Iranians, resulting in over 400 casualties since the previous Friday. The Iranian Foreign Minister has issued a warning to the UN Secretary-General, stating that U.S. attacks on Iran’s nuclear facilities could lead to catastrophic repercussions.

The diplomat commented on the recent US action, attributing it to significant military aggression from Israel. The justification provided by the US was condemned as “false, absurd, and lacking legal foundation.”

He criticized the US Security Council and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) for their “selective behavior and double standards” regarding the Israeli and American strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities, labeling the actions as a “moral, political, and legal disgrace.”

The Iranian representative referred to the 2020 assassination of prominent anti-terror leader General Qassem Soleimani, describing it as a “cowardly and gruesome act of terrorism executed under direct U.S. orders.” The envoy’s statement highlighted enduring American antagonism and impunity.

Iravani has accused Israel of crafting a misleading narrative for more than twenty years, asserting that it is a nuclear-armed state functioning beyond the boundaries of international law.

He asserted that Iran’s measures are entirely in line with Article 51 of the UN Charter, which acknowledges the fundamental right to self-defense.

In a recent call to action, there was a strong appeal for the UN Security Council to promptly address violations attributed to U.S. and Israeli actions by invoking Chapter VII of the UN Charter. Meanwhile, Trump, who once touted himself as a peacemaker, has faced criticism with allegations suggesting a more combative nature.

The situation has been characterized as a significant embarrassment for the global community.

In his address, Russia’s envoy to the United Nations strongly criticized the actions of the United States and Israel towards Iran, labeling them as a flagrant violation of international standards and an overt challenge to the global community.

Vasily Nebenzya emphatically criticized what he termed as the United States’ reckless and provocative maneuvers against Iran. He stated that the actions undertaken by the U.S. and Israel represent a significant affront to the international community.

A diplomat has issued a sharp rebuke against specific members of the United Nations Security Council, condemning their silence and inaction. The diplomat accused these members of failing to muster the courage necessary to condemn Washington’s aggressive actions.

He remarked that certain members of the Council lack the courage to denounce these attacks, further asserting that the United States has repeatedly demonstrated a disregard for diplomatic efforts.

He highlighted the evident double standards related to nuclear non-proliferation efforts.

According to a statement from the Russian representative, Israel has not yet become a signatory to the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT), while Iran continues to be the most scrutinized nation worldwide under the surveillance of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). President Pezeshkian condemned the recent US military actions targeting nuclear sites in the country, asserting that these strikes expose Washington as the primary instigator of Israel’s aggressive behavior towards Iran.

A significant breach of the United Nations Charter has been identified.

In a recent address, the Chinese envoy to the United States strongly criticized the US military strikes targeting Iran’s nuclear facilities, labeling them as a serious violation of international law. The envoy cautioned that such actions pose a threat to global peace and stability.

Fu Cong expressed that the United States’ actions represent a significant breach of the United Nations Charter, international law, and Iran’s sovereignty.

He issued a warning that the attacks have caused significant harm to the global nuclear non-proliferation framework.

The recent military actions by the United States have significantly undermined the international system designed to curb nuclear proliferation, former UK MP Chris Williamson stated. He further claimed that the United States is aligning its policies closely with the interests of the Israeli government, suggesting that Trump’s political endeavors have been financially supported by influential Zionist figures.

“A blatant breach of international law”

The Pakistani envoy to the United Nations expressed grave concern during an emergency session of the UN Security Council, denouncing the actions of Israel and the United States as acts of aggression and violations of international law. The envoy called upon the Security Council to undertake immediate and decisive measures in response.

Pakistan’s representative, Iftikhar Ahmad, voiced significant apprehension regarding escalating tensions due to Israel’s recent actions against Iran. He urged the Security Council to condemn the assaults on Iran, classifying them as a clear breach of international law.

Pakistan has reached out to fellow members of the United Nations Security Council seeking support for a proposed resolution that calls for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, alongside a resumption of dialogue.

A call has been made for Council members to support a draft resolution advocating for an immediate, unconditional ceasefire and a return to substantial negotiations, he stated.
