‘Israeli’ Concerns Over Severe Threats Spark Strikes on Yemen: Popular Resistance Committees

A coalition of Palestinian resistance groups has denounced Israel's recent airstrikes targeting Hudaydah's Red Sea ports in Yemen. The coalition claims that these actions reflect the regime's apprehension of significant retaliatory measures from the Ansarullah movement.

The Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) issued a statement on Monday, expressing strong condemnation of what they described as criminal aggression by the Zionist enemy targeting various civil service and civilian facilities in Yemen.

The People’s Republic of China characterized the strikes as a desperate and unsuccessful effort by the Tel Aviv regime to establish new dynamics in the West Asia region. This comes in the wake of the Yemeni army’s accurate and effective strikes deep into the occupied Palestinian territories, which have posed significant challenges to Israel’s security framework.

The committee commended Yemen’s prompt reaction to the Israeli actions.

The Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) issued a statement expressing commendation for Yemen’s swift response, highlighting the ensuing panic and confusion among Israeli forces. The PRC identified this development as another intelligence lapse for Israel’s security and military entities.

The announcement followed a series of airstrikes by Israel targeting various locations in Yemen’s Hudaydah province late Sunday night.

In a recent statement, Israeli Minister of Military Affairs, Israel Katz, announced that the military strikes were directed at the ports of Hudaydah, As Salif, and Ras Isa, along with the Ras Katib power station and the Galaxy Leader, a merchant vessel previously apprehended by Yemeni forces in November 2023.

In a recent development, the Yemeni Armed Forces launched a new missile strike targeting Israeli sites within the occupied Palestinian territories, marking a continuation of retaliatory actions.

The assault set off air raid sirens across numerous locations, including areas within the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.

Flights at Israel’s primary Ben Gurion Airport were temporarily halted amid concerns over a possible missile threat.

As the conflict in Gaza escalated, Yemeni forces initiated a strategic blockade on key maritime routes. This move was intended to disrupt the flow of military supplies to Israel and to urge the international community to focus on the worsening humanitarian situation in Gaza.

The Yemeni Armed Forces have declared their intention to persist with military actions unless Israel ceases its ground and aerial operations in Gaza, a region that has witnessed the deaths of at least 57,418 Palestinians since the onset of hostilities on October 7, 2023.
