Hezbollah official highlights role of media

Head of the executive council of the Lebanese Islamic Resistance Movement Hezbollah Sayyed Hashim Safiyeddin said media has important role to show realities of resistance and record them in the history.

Talking in the second International Story of Resistance Film Festival, which closed in Beirut on Tuesday, he said those who wrote history in the past introduced the Resistance forces as terrorists and now media could play a leading role in recording the realities of the war, soft war and psychological war of the enemy.

Saffiyeddin added if media could reflect the existing realities, it could play an important role in foiling the plots of the enemy.

He said threats of the Zionist regime is part of its psychological war against the resistance and it shows that one side of the equation is heavier at the interest of the resistance because the regime acted before and now it just threats while the Resistance are fully prepared to face the threats more than before.

Another speaker in the festival, Sarafraz, an official in Islamic Republic of Iran’s Broadcasting (IRIB) stressed the role of media, cinema and art in promotion of resistance culture, and said resistance has turned into a culture in the world of Islam and among the Arab nations and the Palestinians’ chafiyeh has become a symbol for fighting against the arrogance and occupation.

Sarafraz underlined that the enemy is using art to introduce the oppressed as the oppressor and occupiers as the oppressed and a committed art and media are duty bound to support resistance and prevent the great misrepresentation.
