Syrian Warplanes Target ISIL Military Vehicles, Oil Tankers in Deir Ezzur

“The Syrian Air Force strikers bombed a convoy of ISIL oil tankers and meantime targeted their military vehicles carrying heavy weapons in al-Mura’yeh Farm, al-Sina’ah (Industrial) Area and Tal Kroum,” the army said.

The army said the arms cargo contained various types of weapons, including 23mm machineguns and their ammunition, adding that both convoys were fully damaged and at least 22 terrorists were killed in the operation.

“The Syrian army and popular forces also fended off the ISIL attacks in al-Baqaliyeh, the oil-rich areas, depot of ammunition, Forat al-Sham Hotel, al-Ruwad trench and Basel al-Assad water-pumping station in the Eastern province, and killed or wounded many terrorists,” the army added.

“The Syrian government forces also destroyed an ISIL explosive-laden suicide car before they could blast it in Ayyash village,” the army went on to say.

The Syria armed forces have been heavily pounding the ISIL positions across the province in recent weeks.

In relevant development on Friday the army said that its troops engaged in a heavy battle with the ISIL terrorists in one of the main neighborhoods of the Eastern city of Deir Ezzur, adding the pro-government forces have thus far killed or wounded tens of terrorists.

“The Syrian army men’s continued attacks against the ISIL defense lines in al-Jabilah have thus far claimed the lives of many terrorists and have destroyed their military equipment and vehicles,” the army said.
