Abu Marzouk denounces the Egyptian media campaign against Hamas

Deputy head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, Moussa Abu Marzouk, strongly condemned the continued campaign of lies waged by some Egyptian newspapers and media against Hamas movement.

They are false accusations which were denied by the spokesman for the Egyptian army and the Egyptian presidency and General Intelligence, Abu Marzouk told PIC.

Concerning the current visit of Hamas politburo chief to Cairo, he denied any relation between Khaled Meshaal’s visit and the media campaign against the movement in Egypt, saying that it was planned before the Al-Ahram Arabi’s fabricated report.

He stated that the Qassam Brigades have never targeted any of its enemies outside the Palestinian territories, although many of its leaders were assassinated in foreign countries, naming Mabhouh in Dubai and Azzedine Sheikh Khalil in Damascus.

We restricted our battle and resistance against our enemy inside our country, and we never think of transfering the battle with the occupier to another arena, so how could we think of targeting our brothers in Egypt?, Abu Marzouk rhetorically questioned.

He confirmed that that what was published by Egyptian media was mostly collected from the Israeli media and some of the Israeli websites, adding that part of it was leaked from Gulf sources presented by Palestinian sources and other Western newspapers.

Abu Marzouk called on media and journalists, specifically in Egypt, to investigate the information before publishing it, and not to interject Hamas and Palestinian resistance within the Egyptian internal political conflict.

Ayman Nofel was amongst the mentioned names in the Egyptian newspaper’s report, where he was detained in Egyptian jails without charge despite the court decision to release him. During the revolution, the Egyptian jails were opened after superior orders from the former regime in order to create a state of havoc, according to Habib al-Adly’s confessions, where Nofel went out of the jail like thousands of Egyptian prisoners, Abu Marzouk explained.

He denied that Nofel is wanted by the Egyptian security, stressing that no Egyptian party has called to hand him over neither during the Military Council rule nor at the present time because he has no charges against him.

He confirmed that contacts between the movement and the Egyptian Intelligence still continued before and after Sinai incident, insisting that the Egyptian security is as important as the Palestinian security.

Abu Marzouk stressed that Hamas movement did not intervene in the Egyptian internal affairs or the affairs of any other Arab or non-Arab country, insisting that the Palestinian battle against the occupier was and still is inside the Palestinian territories.

The Palestinian people is under occupation and need for the efforts of the free world and all the Egyptian political, social, and religious forces, he added.

Abu Marzouk stated that there are members of the Palestinian Authority in Ramallah leaking incorrect information as part of the war against Hamas in attempts to discredit the Palestinian resistance.

He called on the Egyptian newspapers and TV channels to investigate the truth and not to distort the Palestinian cause and resistance, emphasizing that the three mentioned names are wanted to the Israeli enemy since 15 years.
