A search for a man, who police said fired shots at officers early Wednesday morning, ended in a shootout that left the suspect and two officers injured in Grand Prairie.

The incident began when an officer attempted to pull over a vehicle during a routine traffic stop at about 4:30 a.m. in the 3100 block of North Camino Lagos, police said. At about 2:10 p.m., Grand Prairie police located the suspect in the 600 block of East Seeton Road, less than 1.5 miles from the spot where officers first attempted the traffic stop. According to police, once spotted, the suspect and officers exchanged gunfire. Two officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to a nearby hospital.
