The Afghan and Yemeni parliaments in similar statements on Monday called on the world bodies and Muslim states to take action against the Israeli assault on Gaza and bring an end to the massacre of the defenseless civilians in the Palestinian enclave.

In Afghanistan, lawmakers urged the neighboring and regional countries, the international community, the UN and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to take swift action to stop the ongoing massacre of Gazans, including the defenseless women, children and the youth.

Also, the Yemen legislature called on Arab parliaments to hold an emergency meeting to investigate the Israeli brutal attack on the Gaza Strip, and condemned positions taken by the US and some other western countries in support of the Zionist regime.

The Yemeni MPs also expressed its solidarity with the oppressed Palestinian nation who are under an all-out attack by Israel.

Over 90 Palestinians have been killed and more than 700 others injured in the new wave of Israeli aggressions against the Gaza Strip since Wednesday.

Israel triggered the new round of its assaults against Gazans by assassinating the military chief of the ruling Hamas group on Wednesday followed by dozens of airstrikes on Gaza.

In response, the Palestinian groups have fired more than 1,100 missiles and rockets at Israel. Several Israelis have been killed and about 100 others wounded since Israel initiated the attacks.
