This is the inside view of Pakistan’s Parliament where the government has finally inched a little closer to admit the large scale killing of people in the US drone attacks.

In this document, Islamabad officially reported to the lawmakers that precisely 2199 people have been killed while 282 other injuried in drone attacks over the years.

Islamabad’s behavior regarding the identity of those killed in the US drone attacks has been ambiguous and somewhat self contradictory. On one hand Pakistan reports that the most of the dead were militants. On the other hand, it says it cannot verify the exact number of the civilians because of ongoing ground and air offensive against the militants in the tribal areas.

The latest official findings also show that 208 houses were destroyed and 59 vehicles damaged in the US drone attacks. For the first time, the government made it public to that it has compensated families of 43 dead victims of the attacks.

Islamabad has been at the heart of controversy for discreetly allowing American CIA to carry out illegal drone attacks in its tribal areas near Afghan border.
