Ahmadinejad calls for implementing joint projects with Turkmenistan

President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad on Wednesday urged Iranian and Turkmen officials to speed up implementation of joint projects with Turkmenistan.

He made the remarks in a meeting with vice-chairmen of Turkmen Cabinet of Ministers, Baimurad Khojamukhamedov.

President Ahmadinejad said that construction of railway track jointly by Iranian and Turkmen technicians is an important and historical project and Iranian and Turkmen officials should role up sleeves for its commissioning as soon as possible.

He said Iran and Turkmenistan should try to remove impediments on the way of implementing the agreements already reached.

‘Surely, through assistance and cooperation we will further consolidate historical relations and lift up any obstacles.’

Khojamukhamedov for his part voiced satisfaction with outcome of his talks with Iranian officials in Tehran aiming to further expand cooperation.

He thanked President Ahmadinejad for his special attention to commissioning of the joint projects soon.
