Ahmadinejad Expresses Worries on Western Interference in Syria, Arab World

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad presented six suggestions to help reform the unjust world system at the Fourth United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries.
The conference opened in Istanbul on Monday and runs until Friday.
United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon along with around 50 heads of state and government, 10 vice presidents, 94 ministers, and the chairmen of 47 international organizations are attending the conference.

In his address to the conference on Monday, Ahmadinejad said the fact that certain countries in the world have remained underdeveloped and are suffering from poverty is due to the unjust system prevailing in the world.
He also proposed a six-point plan to help reform the unjust world system. He noted that the one-sided political and economic relations that a few governments have with other governments and nations should be altered so they incline toward justice, and every kind of political and military interference of the hegemonistic powers should be prohibited.

Also, he pointed out that an organization, with full authority, made up of members from countries that are independent of the capitalist system should be formed to develop a mechanism to closely supervise the central banks and treasuries of the expansionist countries.
Iranian President stressed that a detailed list of the wealth and natural and human resources of the least developed countries should be prepared through the cooperation of the UN, independent governments and nations, and the least developed countries themselves. And the list should be presented to those who manage these resources.

He further assured that an independent committee should estimate the damage inflicted during the era of colonialism and slavery, and those who inflicted the damage should pay these countries.
President Ahmadinejad underscored that ten percent of the military budgets of forty countries in the world, which is over $1.2 trillion, more than half being the U.S. government’s share, should be allocated to the least developed countries.

Furthermore, pointing out that the popular and revolutionary Iranian officials have all been elected by high votes of the Iranian nation, he added, “My worries are about the countries that have been under the hegemony of the US and British governments during the past 30 to 50 years and been ruling the nations despotically.
He added, “Unfortunately, today they intend to extend the lives of their dictatorship regimes resorting to massacring their nations.

The Iranian president reiterated, “The truth is that in some countries a person, or a family has been ruling for 30 to 70 years, although in the United States, too, a single, or at most two parties have been ruling for 100 to 150 years over the American nation.
Emphasizing that the nature of such governances is the same, he noted, “This has resulted in the emergence of a situation in which the popular groups have no chance for governing over their own nations.”

Elaborating on Iran’s stands regarding the drastic regional developments, he referred to the west’s interference, arguing, “Their interference has not only been of no assistance, but also led to greater deprivation of the regional nations.
He added, “We believe there are two points regarding these unrests: firstly, the entire nations are entitled to have the chance to choose their rulers freely, enjoy justice, wellbeing, and prosperous lives, and secondly, the interference of the west, and particularly the Americans does not improve, but worsens the situation, and furthermore, deprives the nations of achieving their objectives at lower costs.

Referring to his meeting with the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, he said, “In this

meeting I told him I wished the UN had banned NATO from interference there.
The president said that the best possible assistance for the Libyan nation is dispatching and international neutral group to that country, not dispatching the oil thirsty armies of the hegemonic powers.”
He added, “Such a group could have resorting to a free and fair dialogue restore the rights and demands of the Libyans to them.

Ahmadinejad said, “Presently the presence of the westerners in that country has led to a situation in which no one can propose any clear solution to the lingering crisis there.’
The Iranian president proposed the other involved countries in regional developments, such as Egypt, not to pave the path of the solution that the Libyans are experiencing. Regarding the interference of the aliens in Syria, he reiterated, “I believe such nations as the Syrians are so mature that they can decide for their won future all by themselves.” The president reiterated, “The entire world governments are obliged to heed to demands of their own nations and to pave the path for the good governance of nationally approved political systems.

He then referred to such countries as Turkey, Iraq, Iran and other neighboring countries which have not experiences the winds of change that have been blowing in the region, suggesting them to join hand to resolve the emerging crises peacefully and amicably.
He criticized the status quo of the United Nations, proposing reforms there so that it would serve the interests of the entire world nations.
