Israeli Airstrikes Intensify Near Damascus: Warplanes Launch Renewed Assault
Israeli aircraft have launched additional airstrikes on Syrian territory, disregarding a United Nations caution concerning the increasing civilian casualties resulting from ongoing confrontations with the Arab nation.

On Thursday, Israeli aircraft conducted a minimum of two airstrikes on military targets in the vicinity of Damascus. According to reports, the strikes targeted locations in the Al-Kiswah and Al-Muqaylibah neighborhoods.
No casualties have been reported at this time.
The recent assault occurred within 24 hours following comparable Israeli airstrikes and a ground operation that resulted in the deaths of 13 individuals.
An Israeli airstrike on Syria’s southwestern Dara’a province resulted in the deaths of nine civilians and left several others injured late on Wednesday.
The Syrian Arab News Agency (SANA) reported that an assault targeted the Jubailiyah Forest region located between the cities of Nawa and Tasil.

A large and agitated crowd assembled on Thursday to attend the funeral services for those who lost their lives in Daraa.
Khaled al-Awdat, a 48-year-old resident from an agricultural region, emphasized the desire for peaceful living conditions, asserting that there is no threat posed to Israeli forces in the area. However, he firmly stated their refusal to accept any attacks.
Israel has significantly intensified its focus on Syrian military installations while executing ground operations in southern Syria following the assumption of power by the HTS-led regime last December.
UN envoy for Syria, Geir Pedersen, issued a stern condemnation on Thursday regarding the regime’s intensifying military actions. He cautioned that such actions not only jeopardize the ongoing efforts to reconstruct Syria but also risk exacerbating the country’s instability during an already pivotal period.

Following the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s administration, Israel’s armed forces have been conducting airstrikes targeting military sites, facilities, and arsenals associated with Syria’s now disbanded army.
Israel has faced widespread condemnation for its decision to terminate the 1974 ceasefire agreement with Syria. Criticism has also been directed towards Israel for allegedly taking advantage of the turmoil in Syria following the downfall of Assad to expand its territorial claims.
The United Nations has denounced continued Israeli military actions within Syrian territory, as well as persistent violations in the vicinity of the buffer zone established under the 1974 ceasefire agreement with Damascus.
