“Aoun election crucial for resistance against Zionist regime”

Majlis Speaker’s Special International Affairs Advisor Hossein Amir-Abdollahian said on Wednesday that no doubt election of new Lebanese President Michel Aoun will play a very significant role in resistance against Zionist regime and bolstering of stability and security in the region and fight against terrorism.

In a meeting on Wednesday, Amir-Abdollahian congratulated visiting Lebanese Ambassador to Tehran Fadi Haj Ali on sound political trend in Lebanon and election of the country’s president.
The Islamic Republic of Iran has always closely followed up developments in Lebanon, he said
The Americans tried to reach a political accord on Syria and wished to sack Bashar Assad but their solution was not factual, he said.
Liberation of Mosul is now underway with collective contribution of army, government and all groups and is to bear fruits in the near future, Abdollahian said.
Lebanese ambassador for his part said the Islamic Republic of Iran is a big and significant country and has always backed oppressed nations.
Lebanese businessmen are eager to have a very close economic cooperation with Iran, he said.
The Islamic Republic of Iran is a powerful and stable country in the region and the world, he said.
Designation of Ali Larijani as head of Iran-Lebanon parliamentary friendship group indicates the profound ties between the two sides, he said.
