Assassination Operations against Terrorist Commanders Intensified in Idlib

Two senior commanders of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at (the Levant Liberation Board) terrorist groups were assassinated in Idlib.

After Abdullah Muhammad al-Muhaysini, the commander and Mufti (religious leader) of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at, escaped death in an assassination attempt which resulted in the death of one of his bodyguards, unknown assailants attacked the car carrying the FSA guards near Badama city in the Western parts of Jisr al-Shaqour, killing one of the terrorist group’s commanders named Mohammad Ali and stealing the car with all the weapons inside.

Also, a commander of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at called Bashar Sheikh Deeb was killed after unknown assailants fired at him in Sarmin city in the Eastern parts of Idlib.

As operations to assassinate commanders of the FSA and Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at have increased in Idlib, the security situation has also exacerbated in the region.

Reports said on Saturday that in an attempt to assassinate al-Muhaysini, a suicide bomber blew up himself beside al-Muhaysini’s car near Abuzar Qaffari Mosque in Idlib city center, but the mufti of Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at escaped death while his bodyguard was killed.

Nine other members of the Tahrir al-Sham Hay’at were also wounded in the assassination attempt.

Since al-Muhaysini was in a bullet-proof vehicle he escaped death.

Other reports indicate that al-Muhaysini has been wounded.
