Assistant of Iranian President: President al-Assad’s Initiative Draws Path for Solution

j8m00nwqcopyIran’s President Assistant, Ali Said Lo, stressed on Tuesday that the initiative of President Bashar al-Assad has drawn the path of the political solution to the crisis in Syria on the internal, regional and international levels.

During his meeting with Syria’s Ambassador to Iran, Dr. Adnan Mahmoud, Said Lo affirmed the need for the regional and international parties to create the circumstances for making the Syrian comprehensive initiative a success through halting the support of terrorism and encouraging dialogue among all spectrums of the Syrian society.

He said that President al-Assad’s speech and initiative embodied strength, confidence and the popular will to build Syria’s future and consolidated the principles of national sovereignty, the free decision of the Syrian people and non-interference in their internal affairs.

The Iranian President Assistant pointed out that the rejection by the Syrian people’ enemies of the Syrian initiative from the first moments stresses the malicious objectives of these countries that are seeking to weaken Syria and deplete its capabilities in the interest of Israel and the Western colonialist forces.

Said Lo voiced his country’s satisfaction over the remarkable progress in the economic and commercial relations between Syria and Iran, stressing the importance to double efforts to increase the exchange of goods between the two countries.

For his part, Dr. Mahmoud expressed Syria’s appreciation to Iran for its stances on the Syrian initiative for solving the crisis and keenness on helping the Syrians restore their safety and stability.

He highlighted the significance of investing the important decisions measures taken by the Iranian government in terms of opening its markets before the Syrian products and providing facilitations and exemptions to face the economic war waged against the Syrian people.

Ambassador Mahmoud also reviewed with Head of the Committee for the Development of Iranian-Syrian Relations, Hassan Kazemi Qomi, the mechanisms of economic cooperation and means to speed up implementing them.

Kazemi Qomi underscored the need to meet the Iranian markets’ needs of the Syrian goods, particularly cotton, olive oil and clothes, calling upon the public and private sectors in the two countries to benefit from the facilitations provided by the Iranian government in this regard.
