A sum of 15 ISIL terrorists were killed and three of their vehicles were also destroyed during the Iraqi airstrikes.

Baiji oil refinery is located in the Northern parts of Tikrit, capital of Salahuddin province.

Earlier in the day, Iraqi security forces arrested two notorious terrorists of the ISIL who had fled a high security prison in Mosul city in Nineveh province.

The ISIL terrorists were arrested in Najaf international airport upon their arrival from the Kurdish city of Erbil.

They had escaped the Badoush prison in Mosul city four weeks ago after the ISIL captured the city and attacked the prison at that time.

Iraq is currently witnessing a wave of violence, which escalated after militants from the ISIL terrorist group took control of large swathes and key cities in the Northwestern parts of the country.

The Iraqi forces are pressing ahead with their fight against militants from the terrorist group who threatened to take the battle to Baghdad, but are now losing the grounds they gained in the early days of their raid on the Muslim state.
