Iran to mass produce new bio-implants

IRI’s industries and mines minister said that research activities for the mass production of four new bio-implants have begun in the country.

Speaking at a ceremony honoring bio-implant manufacturers, Ali Akbar Mehrabian said that bio-implants will be exported after the country’s domestic needs are met.

“Young Iranian scientists have broken the monopoly of European and American companies in the mass-production of four types of bio-implants,” he added.

Pointing to the establishment of seven centers for the production of bio-implants in the country, Mehrabian said Iran can become an exporter of bio-implants in the near future.

“Our experts have acquired the know-how for the mass-production of bone bio-implants, heart coronary valve bio-implants, tendon bio-implants and ligament bio-implants,” he added.

“We can see export of modern and hi-tech products in the near future starting with the export of bio-implant products,” he added.

Bio-implants are prosthesis made of biosynthetic material.
