Pro-Palestine activists have staged a demonstration outside the office of Britain’s state-run BBC, in a move to condemn the corporation’s biased approach to the latest deadly offensives launched by the apartheid regime of Israel against the besieged Palestinian territory.
According to Press TV, some 80 protesters gathered outside the BBC office on College Lane, London, on November 17, demanding the corporation “tell the truth about Gaza.”
In the protest, which was organized by Merseyside Friends of Palestine (FOP) and Merseyside Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), demonstrators voiced support for the Palestinians in the blockaded coastal strip.
They also handed leaflets that included a quote from renowned American academic Noam Chomsky, saying, “News items overwhelmingly focus on the rockets that have been fired from Gaza … what is not in focus is the shelling and bombardments of Gaza.”
A student from the University of Liverpool who attended the rally said she was there “in retaliation to what’s been going on Palestine in the last couple of days”, describing the BBC coverage as “rubbish” and “one-sided.”
