Syrian Arab Army (SAA) managed to recapture several villages in the northern Hama countryside over the last ten days, putting an abrupt end to Jund Al-Aqsa’s (Syrian Al-Qaeda franchise) large-scale offensive.

Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Arab Army recaptured 15 villages in the northern Hama countryside during this ongoing offensive.

Among the many villages and hilltops recaptured by the Syrian Armed Forces in northern Hama was the key village of Ma’an, which was seized by Jund Al-Aqsa the week prior to this counter-offensive.

With Ma’an under their control, the Syrian Arab Army has now turned their attention to the key town of Souran, which is considered the gateway to the villages of Taybat Al-Imam and Helfaya.

In the coming days, the Tiger Forces are expected to attack Souran, while another unit from the Syrian Arab Army makes their first push north towards the Idlib-Hama axis.
