Bomb attack kills at least 6 in Pakistan

Pakistani officials say at least six people have been killed and 46 others injured in a bomb attack in Pakistan’s restive southwestern province of Baluchistan.

The blast took place in the provincial capital Quetta outside the residence of the province’s police chief, Mushtaq Sukhera.
According to AFP, Home Secretary Akbar Durrani said, “At least two policemen, three paramilitary soldiers and one passerby were killed outside the inspector general’s residence and 46 others were wounded”.
He added that the powerful blast shattered nearby windows and sent debris flying. However, the police chief is said to have escaped unharmed.
Baluchistan province has been the site of mounting violence.
