Breaking: Syrian Army launches major push south towards Jordanian border

The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) launched a big assault in eastern Daraa this morning, targeting the last towns belonging to the jihadist rebels in the area.

Led by the Tiger Forces, the Syrian Army attacked several areas south of the recently captured town of Al-Hirak in a bid to advance towards the Jordanian border.

According to a military source in the government stronghold of Izraa, the Syrian Army has made some minor advances, today, but they are expected to intensify their assault this afternoon, as more reinforcements arrive to make the push towards Busra Al-Sham and Nassib Crossing.

The Syrian Army is planning to attack these aforementioned areas near the Jordanian border by splintering their troops south of Al-Hirak.

The source would add that the Syrian Army is not currently part of the ceasefire wtih the rebels, as this was only negotiated between the Russian forces and rebels in Daraa.

On Thursday, the Syrian Arab Army scored a major advance in the eastern countryside of Daraa, following a relatively short battle with the jihadist rebels of Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham at the towns of Alma and Al-Hirak.

Al-Hirak was the second major town the Syrian Arab Army has captured in the Daraa Governorate since the start of this offensive.
