Top Commander: IRGC set to enhance its naval capabilities with the integration of an indigenously developed multi-purpose drone carrier
The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy is set to receive a newly developed domestically produced drone carrier, according to the IRGC Navy's commander. This advanced vessel is poised to undertake a variety of combat roles, highlighting significant strides in local military technology and capabilities.

In a statement made during the 14th Malek Ashtar festival in Tehran, Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri announced that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is equipped with drone carriers and vessels designed to transport both helicopters and drones. He further indicated that, with divine assistance, a new multi-purpose drone carrier is set to be integrated into the IRGC Navy fleet shortly.
According to a statement, four military vessels belonging to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Navy are scheduled to set sail for the United Arab Emirates for joint engagements with the Emirati naval forces.
Admiral Tangsiri announced that the recent naval visit to the Persian Gulf nation marks an unprecedented milestone, being the first of its kind.
The commander of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy emphasized that regional nations are fully capable of safeguarding the security of the West Asia region independently, without external interference.
He additionally noted that plans are underway for maritime drills with regional partners, including Iraq. Furthermore, he mentioned that Iranian naval forces have successfully conducted joint military exercises with Oman.
Vice Admiral Alireza Tangsiri emphasized the critical importance of ensuring shipping security in the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically vital maritime corridor.
He affirmed that the security of the Strait of Hormuz has been maintained for many years, with suitable measures being implemented to uphold this stability.
The Iranian Armed Forces, encompassing both the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the national Army, have been steadily advancing their military capabilities and preparedness. This development aligns with the strategic directives issued by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei.
The military forces have pledged to safeguard the nation’s sovereignty and territorial integrity amid ongoing threats from adversaries of Iran.
