Violent clashes have erupted between Israeli forces and thousands of angry Palestinian demonstrators protesting the brutal murder of a Palestinian teenager by Israeli settlers.

Media reports say a series of violent clashes also took place in at least two neighborhoods of the occupied East al-Quds (Jerusalem) on Friday.

Tensions are still running high with Israeli troops using tear gas to disperse angry Palestinian demonstrators in Ras al-Amud neighborhood of East al-Quds. Latest reports say intense clashes have also occurred in Beit Hanina between Israeli forces and the Palestinians.

Similar rallies have taken place in various towns of the occupied territories over the past days.

Palestinians are outraged over the brutal murder of a teenager, which they blame on Israeli settlers.

This comes as thousands of mourners gathered in a cemetery in East al-Quds to bury 16-year-old Mohammed Abu Khedir. His burned body was found in a forest on Wednesday after he was abducted near his home.

This is while Palestinians have fired over a dozen rockets from the besieged Gaza Strip into Israel in retaliation for Tel Aviv’s deadly airstrikes.

Two rockets have reportedly been intercepted by the Israeli Iron Dome system. The rest have passed through, two of which have hit the southern city of Sderot, causing material damage and power cuts.

Tel Aviv has conducted several air raids on Gaza following the disappearance and deaths of three Israeli settlers in the occupied West Bank.

Several Palestinians have been killed and hundreds of others arrested following the incident.

Palestinian political groups say Israel is trying to sabotage the recent reconciliation accord reached between Hamas and Fatah, which led to the formation of the Palestinian national unity government.
