“The killing of Palestinian Minister Abu Ein during peaceful protest is part of the everyday violence unleashed by Israel on the Palestinians” said an activist from Palestine Solidarity Campaign.

“This is just one incident out of many that happens regularly where peaceful protests by the Palestinians are always met with violence by Israeli soldiers,” Kamel Hawwash of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign said in an interview with Press TV from London. “This minister was on private Palestinian land trying to plant an olive tree on the international day of human rights.”

“It shows you what an immoral state we’re dealing with; a rogue state that operates above the law and it is one that should now be taken to the International Criminal Court to make sure that its leaders face justice,” Hawwash added.

The remarks come as top United Nations human rights official Zeid Raad Zeid al-Hussein says the Tel Aviv regime must urgently probe with utter transparency the killing of the Palestinian minister in the occupied West Bank.

Ziad Abu Ein was killed on Wednesday in a peaceful anti-Israeli protest in the occupied West Bank during which some 300 Palestinians had planned to plant olive trees as a symbolic act of protest against Israeli settlements. He was killed after Israeli soldiers beat him with the butts of their weapons and their helmets.
