Iran condemns recent U.S-based terrorist attacks in Syria

Iran’s Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast has condemned the recent deadly terrorist attacks in the Syrian capital city of Damascus.

These attacks cause instability and insecurity in the region and those who support giving weapons to armed groups are accountable, he said on Saturday.

“Undoubtedly, the motivation behind these measures, which is said to be supporting the people’s demands, aim to target sustainable reforms, national talks and the return of security and stability to the country,” he said.

The remarks were made after two car bombing attacks killed at least 27 people and injured almost 100 others in al-Qasaa and Duwar al-Jamarek areas of Damascus.

Mehmanparast said that the recent explosions in Syria are a form of revenge against the Syrian nation which supports their government.

The Iranian official also sympathized with the families of the victims and the government of Syria.

Syria has been experiencing unrest since mid-March 2011 because of the U.S, Zionist Occupation Israel and their regional allies-backed terrorist groups.

Damascus blames “outlaws, saboteurs, and armed terrorist groups” for the unrest, asserting that it is being orchestrated from abroad.
