The Yemeni army and popular forces will launch large-scale military operations against the Takfiri terrorist groups in Hadhramaut province in the coming days, a senior military commander announced.

“The Yemeni army backed by Ansarullah forces is prepared for a major assault on the military positions and concentration centers of the ISIL and Al-Qaeda terrorist groups in Hadhramaut region in Southeastern Yemen,” Yemeni Army Commander Colonel Hessam Abdel Razzaq al-Ahari told FNA in Sana’a on Sunday.

He reiterated that the Yemeni army and popular forces are planning to stage massive military operations against the Takfiri terrorist groups to force them back from their positions in the province.

Earlier this week, a senior Ansarullah commander announced that popular forces have made significant advances in Sana’a, and inflicted heavy losses on the terrorists near the strategic Bab al-Mandeb Strait over the past 24 hours.

“The Yemeni army and popular forces took control of Wadi al-Ghail region near Mefraq al-Jawf paving the way for reopening Ma’rib road to Farza Na’am and Sana’a,” Hossein al-Houthi told FNA.

Meantime, at least a dozen terrorists were killed and many more were wounded in clashes with Ansarullah fighters in the popular forces’ attack on their military positions in Sana’a.

“The Yemeni popular forces will take full control of Bab al-Mandeb Strait soon,” al-Houthi added.
