Military operations have continued against foreign-backed militants in Syria, directing smashing blows to their gatherings and dens in several areas around the country.
On Wednesday, an army unit killed all members of a militant group, including an al-Nusra Front ringleader nicknamed Abu Hassan Abu Taha, in Essal al-Ward in Damascus Countryside.
Army units targeted militants’ gatherings and dens to the northwest of al-Ghezlan farm and near Attman town in Daraa, killing many of them, injuring others and destroying a bulldozer they were using in their militant activities.
A military source said that several militants were killed and others were injured on Daraa-Tafas road, in al-Kassara area in Daraa countryside, in addition to destroying a den near al-Tebneh, killing many and injuring others.
In Daraa city, an army unit targeted a militants’ gathering near Hilal al-Habashi Mosque, killing many of them and injuring others.
The army units also carried out operations against militants’ dens and gatherings in Mantaf village in Idlib countryside, killing a large number of militants, most of them were non-Syrians, in addition to destroying their weapons and ammunition.
Scores of militants were killed and injured during the army operations that targeted militants’ dens and gatherings in al-Amqiyeh, Jisr Abyad, Bazeh farms and Qmainas in Idlib countryside, destroying their weapons and ammunition.
Other army units destroyed militants’ dens and gatherings near Beshlamoun and Kaniset Nakhleh towns in Idlib countryside, killing and injuring many of them, in addition to destroying their weapons and ammunition.
The army units targeted militants’ gatherings in al-Sultaniyeh village in the eastern countryside of Homs, al-Rastan, the area surrounding B’aril al-Jazel, and near Bait al-Sheikh to the southwest of Hasiyeh, destroying a bulldozer and killing all militants inside of it in the area surrounding Abu Sllal hill.
Army units targeted militants’ gatherings in al-Lairamoun, Bustan al-Qaser, Bani Zaid, Hreitan, Hanano, al-Miselmiyeh, Mare’ and Mayer in Aleppo province, killing big numbers of them and destroying their weapons.
Army units also destroyed several militants’ vehicles, killing all the militants inside in al-Zarba, al- Miselmiyeh, al-Shaqif, al-Haidariyeh, Tal Jabin, the industrial area and Blas.
Syria has been gripped by deadly violence since March 2011. Over 160,000 people have reportedly been killed and millions displaced due to the violence fueled by the foreign-backed militants.
According to reports, the Western powers and their regional allies — especially Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Turkey — are supporting the militants operating inside Syria.
