Afghan forces kill 8 Taliban members

4321a2f4d94dfe6d1e629109c4423631_LThe Afghan Interior Ministry says afghan security forces have killed eight Taliban members during operations since early Monday.

In a statement providing daily operational updates on Tuesday, the ministry said that the operations were carried out in three provinces of the country.
The statement read, “Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) conducted anti-terrorism operations in Zabul, Uruzgan, and Wardak provinces over the last 24 hours. As a result, eight armed Taliban members were killed and two others were arrested by the ANSF,”
The statement added without mentioning if there were any casualties on the side of the security forces, the troops also managed to seize weapons and defuse several improvised explosive devices and roadside bombs.
Roadside bombs and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) are by far the most lethal weapons Taliban militants use against Afghan forces, foreign troops, and civilians.
