East Ghouta militants fail to retake Al-Hamouriyah after latest counter-offensive – map

Terrorists launched a counter-attack in the East Ghouta, yesterday, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions at the town of Al-Hamouriyah.

Led by Faylaq Al-Rahman and Hay’at Tahrir Al-Sham, the militants stormed the western axis of Al-Hamouriyah in a bid to retake the town.

However, their offensive would be short-lived, as the Syrian Arab Army’s Tiger Forces ultimately drove back the Islamist rebels and secured all axes.

The capture of Al-Hamouriyah on Thursday marked the first time that the Syrian Arab Army has been in control of this East Ghouta suburb in years.
