Egypt to temporarily reopen Rafah crossing

Egypt has decided to reopen Rafah border crossing on Wednesday and Thursday for access for students and humanitarian aid.

According to AFP, the Rafah border crossing will be opened from 10:00 a.m. (0800 GMT) and until 02:00 p.m. (1200 GMT) after it was closed on Sept. 11.
Egyptian sources said that they set to open the Rafah crossing with the Gaza strip to “emergency only” cases for four hours on Wednesday and Thursday.
Egypt had closed the Rafah crossing from the Hamas-ruled coastal enclave on 15 August, citing security reasons behind the move a day after deadly violence nationwide.
