Endeavour launched on two-week mission
The US space shuttle, Endeavour, has lifted off from Kennedy Space Center in Florida on a two-week mission to the international space station.
The Endeavour orbiter made its final night launch early Monday to soar into the Florida sky on its 13-day mission to the International Space Station (ISS).
The lift-off, which is to be one of the last ISS assembly flights, occurred at 04:14 local time (09:14 GMT) and was 24 hours behind schedule.
NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration) is sending the six-member Endeavour crew to deliver a key module to the space station.
The Endeavour should have left Earth on Sunday, but a thick layer of cloud, blanketing the Florida coast, delayed its launch.
