Southern Syria offensive to begin soon

The Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) long-awaited southern Syria offensive is scheduled to begin within the coming weeks, as one of their leading forces heads to the Dara’a Governorate.

According to the latest reports, the Syrian Arab Army’s elite Tiger Forces are slated to make their way from western Syria to the Dara’a Governorate in the coming days.

The Tiger Forces have been tasked with retaking the southern part of the provincial capital, which has long been under the control of the Free Syrian Army (FSA) and their jihadist allies.

While the Tiger Forces retake the provincial capital, the Syrian Army’s 4th Division will be leading a two front assault that will be concentrated on the Al-Quneitra Governorate and the Nassib Crossing in southern Dara’a.

The entire offensive will be led by Syrian troops; it will not have any foreign elements involved.
