Five PJAK militants killed in Iran

Five members of the Party for Free Life in Kurdistan (PJAK) terrorist group have been killed in clashes with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) in western Iran.

The clashes broke out on Wednesday night during an operation carried out by the IRGC in the mountainous region of Dalaho situated in the western Iranian Kermanshah Province which borders Iraq.

Almost a year ago, PJAK terrorists killed a group of officers in an attack on a police station on a road connecting two cities in Kermanshah Province.

PJAK is an offshoot of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) that mainly focuses on creating unrest in Iran by engaging in armed clashes with Iranian security forces along the country’s western frontiers.

The PKK has carried out many deadly operations in northern Iraq and southern Turkey. The militant group has been blacklisted as a terrorist organization by Iran, Iraq, Turkey, the US, and the EU.
