Syrian Army Strategist: No Place in Israel Safe from Syria’s Reprisal

A prominent strategist and military analyst of the Syrian army warned of Damascus’s crushing response to the recent Israeli aggression, and stated that the Syrian army can easily target all parts of Israel.

Speaking to FNA on Wednesday, Turki Hassan said that Israel resorted to airstrikes on Damascus after its terrorist elements failed to achieve their goals in Syria.

“This move will not remain unanswered,” he added.

“In Israel … there is no place out of the range of the Syrian army and no Patriot or Iron Dome missiles (shield) can stand up to Syria’s reprisal,” he reiterated, adding that the Syrian forces are prepared to respond to the Israeli aggression as soon as they receive the relevant order from their commander in chief, Bashar al-Assad.

On Sunday, Israeli rockets struck the Jamraya research center in the vicinity of the Syrian capital, Damascus.

Syria said the Israeli regime had carried out an airstrike targeting a research center in a suburb of Damascus after heavy losses were inflicted on al-Qaeda-affiliated groups by the Syrian army.

Later, President Bashar al-Assad said Syria is capable of facing Israel.

“The Syrian army is capable of confronting Israel,” said the Syrian President, adding that the recent Israeli airstrikes represented an act of terrorism against Syria.

“The Syrian people and its army who have made important achievements by fighting terrorist and Takfiri groups are capable of confronting Israel’s ventures that represent one of the many faces of terrorism targeting Syria today,” he said during his meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in Damascus, Syria’s state TV reported.

The president added that “the Israeli aggression towards Syria reveals the extent of Israel’s and other regional and western states’ involvement in the ongoing events”.
