The Iraqi air force pounded the Takfiri terrorists’ positions in the city of Mosul in Nineveh province, killing scores of ISIL militants, including a senior commander and his deputies.

The ISIL’s commander in charge of bombings and explosives together with four of his deputies were killed in the Iraqi airstrikes on the Takfiri group’s military positions in Mosul city.

Meantime, 50 other ISIL militants were also killed in the Iraqi warplanes’ raids on their positions.

The ISIL took control of Mosul city two years ago and tough battle is underway between the militants and the Iraqi government forces to seize back the city.

In a relevant development on Wednesday, the Iraqi volunteer forces (Hashd al-Shaabi) commanders reiterated that they are determined to continue their tough battle against the ISIL in a bid to take full control of Mosul in Northern Iraq, and said that they will pay no heed to the US pressures aimed at preventing them from doing so.

“We are committed to the Iraqi government’s decision that the Iraqi volunteer forces should play an active role in the battles against the Takfiri terrorists in Mosul,” Spokesman of Iraq’s Ansarullah al-Nujaba Movement Hashem al-Moussavi told FNA.

He reiterated that the volunteer forces are waiting for the Iraqi government’s decision before moving towards Mosul.

“The US and the regional spy agencies are seeking to trouble the Iraqi volunteer forces’ partnership in the war against the ISIL in Mosul, but to no avail,” al-Moussavi added.
