Former Intelligence Minister: Political Tranquility in Iraq Will Annihilate ISIL

“The ISIL is not a complicated phenomenon, as the ordinary Iraqi people, the prominent Shiite and Sunni clergies, and every tribe, party and individual there are opposed to them, which is why I believe after resolving the political problems in Iraq the ISIL, too, will be soon toppled there,” Younesi said.

He said that the ISIL terrorists are an anti-Islamic group, neither belonging to the Shiite, nor to the Sunni Islamic schools of thought, as some media are cunningly trying to convey.

In relevant remarks on Wednesday, Chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani warned the world against the threat of the Takfiri terrorists of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant as a fanatic and autocrat group.

“The ISIL terrorist group is an ignorant and fanatic current that is headed by the most autocratic people,” Rafsanjani said, addressing a meeting of the Iranian youth active in political and cultural fields on Wednesday.

He noted that the ISIL does not know anything about Islam and attributes its savage acts to Islam merely to tarnish the image of Islam and make the people of the world afraid of this divine religion.

Rafsanjani pointed to the critical conditions in Iraq, Yemen, Egypt, Libya, Lebanon and Afghanistan, and said, “The main problem of these countries is lack of unity and solidarity and if they did not face sectarian and religious differences a small terrorist group could never occupy their different regions and commit crimes against their people.”

The Chairman of Iran’s Expediency Council also strongly criticized the western media for using the term Islamic State instead of the ISIL.
