Syria’s capital awaiting Tuesday’s elections

Mehr News correspondents have reported a Damascus with election banners despite threats from terrorist groups DAESH, Al-Nusra Front, and Free Syrian Army.

Mehr News crew arrived in Syria on Saturday morning along with a delegation of Iranian reporters and journalists to cover the upcoming Syrian presidential elections on Tuesday.

Syrian people attend carnivals and hold posters and rise banners of Bashar al-Assad to show their willingness to participate the elections.

Bashar al-Assad’s banners covered many parts of the capital in different districts.

“Songs and lyrics supporting Assad are heard everywhere in Damascus and Syrian youths give Assad’s poster to people to invite them to participate in elections,” report MNA correspondent from Syria and add that “Syrian Christians and Muslims hands in hands sing national songs and regard the elections an end to the Syrian crisis.”

Syrian officials told MNA correspondents that some terrorists had tried to blast some parts of the city to frighten people from participating in the elections.
