Gaza gov’t: Egyptian media incitement targets Palestinian resistance

images_News_2014_01_29_govt_300_0Palestinian government in Gaza has expressed its deep regret at the Egyptian media outlets’ ongoing accusations targeting Gaza and Palestinian resistance.

Following its weekly meeting on Tuesday, Gaza government denied Egyptian accusations, saying that those allegations are fabricated lies that target Hamas movement and the Palestinian resistance in Gaza.

The government called for an end to these false accusations that only serve the occupation.

On the other hand, Gaza government condemned the continued unfair siege imposed on Yarmouk refugee camp in Damascus for 199 days in a row that led to the death of 75 refugees, who perished from starvation.

It called for neutralizing the Palestinian refugee camps, and to allow the aid supplies access to the besieged areas.

The government condemned PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas’s invitation to the Israeli MP Benjamin Netanyahu to deliver a speech at the Palestinian Legislative Council, and urged him to cancel this invitation and to cork for achieving Palestinian national reconciliation.

The government expressed its deep concern over the Israeli decision to establish 381 housing units in occupied Jerusalem, calling on Abbas to end the negotiation process that provides a cover to Israeli settlement construction.

The Palestinian government in Gaza also congratulated the government and people of Republic of Tunisia on the approval of the new constitution.

For its part, Hamas movement considered the Egyptian prosecutors’ claims against members of the movement “a silly farce loaded with politicized accusations.”

In its statement issued on Tuesday, the Islamic Resistance Movement said that “these allegations are unfounded, and are sheer lies and fabrications targeting Hamas’s history and supporters”.

The statement demanded an end to the incitement against Hamas and the Palestinian people and resistance, saying that these accusations only serve Israeli interests.
