Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid has said the Israeli “genocide” of the Palestinian population in the Gaza Strip must stop.
“This genocide has to be stopped… We want to see the end of the war immediately,” Rashid said in an exclusive interview with RT on Thursday.
The goal of the government in Baghdad is to ensure that the Palestinians are given “complete self-determination,” and that the State of Palestine is recognized internationally and “plays its role in the region.”
Rashid called on the international community to take prompt action in regard to providing the Palestinian people with all the necessary humanitarian aid.
Figures published onThursday showed since the Israeli regime forces launched their genocidal war on Gaza on October 7, more than 36,654 Palestinians, most of them children and women, have been killed and at least 83,300 more have been injured.
